ABOUT
Yellow Peach is more than just a coffee—it’s a story of family, resilience, and the deep connection between land and cup. Grown at El Divino Niño, the farm of Josefina and Mario Gonzalez, this microlot sits tucked away in the highlands of Jinotega, Nicaragua. Remote and difficult to access, the family must carry each harvest out entirely on horseback, a tradition that speaks to their commitment and the rugged beauty of their farm.

Josefina and Mario, together with their seven children, have called this corner of the mountain home since 1985. Their days are spent not only tending to coffee trees but also caring for chickens, a pig, a horse, and a small waterfall that flows year-round. Coffee here is part of daily life, woven into the rhythm of family and place. The varieties they cultivate—Catuai and the improved Caturra Estrella—are chosen not just for resilience but for the remarkable flavor potential they deliver.

The washed process, with a careful 17-hour fermentation, brings clarity and brightness to this lot while highlighting its natural sweetness. What emerges in the cup is a layered and expressive profile: the delicate juiciness of Saturn peach, the soft richness of golden honey, and a lift of tangy, spice-like sumac. It’s a coffee that feels both comforting and intriguing, a balance of familiar sweetness and unexpected brightness.

We’re proud to share this microlot, knowing it represents more than a set of tasting notes. It’s the story of a family carrying their harvest out by hand and hoof, season after season, so that a coffee with this much care and character can reach your cup. Yellow Peach is a celebration of place, people, and the kind of dedication that makes coffee truly special.
