FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

If this is your first time visiting, or planning a visit, Welcome! You've probably seen a post about our cute cafe, or one of our fun drinks, and are excited to come in and visit, and we don't blame you. We've placed a lot of emphasis and love into what we do, and how we do it! There are a few things you need to know before you come in. 

WE ARE NOT STARBUCKS OR DUNKIN.

We mean this in the best possible way, we are not a carbon copy of a chain store. We don't make Starbucks drinks, sizes, prices, or even roast level. It's perfectly fine for you to love these places, but we just choose not to repackage what you can get just about anywhere else and offer it with a new name. One thing you'll notice right away from our menu is that it's weird. We know. It's meant to be weird for the purpose we stated above. We roast all of our specialty coffee in house, and craft our sweet pairings off of our "SCIENCE" menu like cocktails.

WHAT FLAVORS DO YOU HAVE?

See the above. We're really nerdy about our coffees. Much like wine people are into wine, or beer people into beer. That being said, some wines, and beers pair really well with other things, so we wanted to pair our awesome coffees too, and created our "SCIENCE" and "BUBBLY" menu. Instead of offering you generic pumps of flavors you can get pretty much everywhere else, we decided to put on our cocktail making hats and craft some really fun, one of a kind drinks inspired by travel (Our Mayan Latte is inspired by spicy Mexican Chocolate), pop culture (Our Butterbroo is our take on if a Harry Potter Butter Beer were made as a latte), or nostalgia (Our Truffle Shuffle is a double shot of espresso inside of a YooHoo bottle). You came to us for a new experience, and we'd love to be able to give it to you! 

CAN I ORDER AHEAD ONLINE OR BY PHONE?

Unfortunately, no. We eliminated online ordering in October of 2021 because our demand superseded our capacity. 

ARE YOUR DRINKS VEGAN?

Most of our menu can be made vegan. Please inform us of any allergies or eating restrictions. It's important to ask our team members, as certain mixes that we use do contain some dairy. 

WHATS YOUR DARKEST ROAST?

So, theres a lot of misconceptions about roast level in coffee. Some people might think that theres a difference between caffeine content between light and dark roast, but there isn't. Think of it like a steak or a bread, the less you cook it, the more natural flavor will remain in it, the more you cook it, the more you taste the cooking method. Cooking a piece of toast more doesn't make it stronger, regardless of if the char makes it taste stronger, and that applies to coffee to. All of that being said, our coffees are all light roasts. We focus more on the nuances of the origin, varietal, and process method. See, we told you we're nerdy about coffee. 

CAN I MAKE MY OWN CUSTOM DRINK?

We know how hard it is to go to a new and unfamiliar place, and be overwhelmed with a menu you've never seen before. Especially a menu like ours. But don't be judgmental, be curious. We strongly suggest not customizing your own drink. We can make things less sweet or more sweet, decaf or half-caf, as well as make slight alterations to our drinks, but know that we've tested all of our recipes and wouldn't put anything on our menu we didn't absolutely love. Again, you came to us for a new experience, embrace it! Most importantly, talk to us about what you're looking for. 

WHAT IF I DON'T LIKE COFFEE?

Our toxic trait is thinking we can make everyone fall in love with coffee through our coffee. That being said, we have many non coffee beverages, from chai, to matcha, to loose leaf teas, and tasty chocolates or steamers. You've got options!

DO YOU SERVE FOOD?

We made this place to first and foremost be a showroom for our coffees. Also, the building where we're in is not permitted by Montclair township to have commercial cooking. Although our cafe is comprised heavily of beverages, we do have fresh pastries from Le French Dad, baked daily, as well as many other grab and go options.
