ABOUT THE ROLE

Our baristas do much more than make drinks. They create the experience people associate with Paper Plane.

You’ll prepare thoughtfully crafted coffee and specialty drinks, welcome guests, keep the café moving during busy service, and help maintain a clean, organized, and inviting space. Some shifts are fast-paced and high-volume, so we’re looking for people who can move with purpose while still making customers feel seen and cared for.

Coffee experience is helpful, but it isn’t everything. We’re equally interested in people who are eager to learn, take feedback well, and genuinely enjoy working with others.

$15–$17 per hour + tips

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Prepare espresso drinks, batch brew, tea, matcha, and seasonal beverages accurately and consistently
  • Provide warm, attentive service to every guest
  • Learn our coffee offerings, recipes, and preparation standards
  • Dial in espresso and help maintain drink quality throughout the day
  • Take orders and process payments accurately
  • Keep the bar, café, equipment, and service areas clean and organized
  • Restock ingredients, cups, retail products, and other supplies
  • Help with dishes, café upkeep, opening, and closing responsibilities
  • Communicate clearly with teammates during busy service
  • Follow food-safety, sanitation, and equipment-care procedures

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • A genuine interest in coffee, hospitality, and learning
  • Friendly and confident communication with customers and coworkers
  • Dependability, punctuality, and consistent attendance
  • The ability to stay calm, organized, and welcoming in a busy environment
  • Attention to detail and pride in doing things well
  • A willingness to receive feedback and continue improving
  • The ability to work independently while remaining part of a team
  • Availability for a combination of weekdays, weekends, early mornings, or closing shifts
  • The ability to remain on your feet throughout a shift and lift up to 50 pounds

Previous café or specialty-coffee experience is preferred, but we’re willing to train the right person.
